Database Query Performance

The company wanted to compare their solution with several different products, including Tableau. They wanted to measure the processing speed for different data sets, not for delivery to the user, but for delivery to an analysis tool. They also wanted to better understand where they had any advantages over other tools.

Being able to get the data, particularly with complex queries and large data sets, can be a challenge. Waiting overnight for a data extract is not something we expect modern tools to require. Processor speeds, the data stores, the types of queries, and the resulting data sets are all factors in how quickly (or not) a report or dashboard can be displayed.

This particular test was designed to compare data set return performance for IRI CoSort and Tableau.
